Industry snapshot

Safeguarding personal information is of the utmost importance for any notary public, being that they are sworn in as public servants and are tasked with serving the people of their communities in a variety of capacities. Whether notarizing important trust documents & health care directives or facilitating an entire loan signing for a mortgage; notaries are constantly handling highly sensitive personal information. This personal information is not only contained within the documents that may be notarized but also in the notary’s journal, which is either required by law or considered a ‘best practice’. In California, it is even required by law for the notary to capture the thumbprint of a signer in the notary’s journal under many circumstances - a strict measure that further deters fraud but puts an ever greater emphasis on the notary to properly handle their signer’s information.

…And that is where we come in

The Notary eJournal is the only notary journal app built with thumbprint capture technology and therefore is the only notary journal app compliant with California law. Built by a team of California notaries and escrow officers, the Notary eJournal emphasizes efficiency, security & compliance with all of its business objectives and operations. By achieving SOC 2 compliance we are committing ourselves to an even higher standard; for the sake of the notaries who trust our platform and the members of their communities whom they proudly serve.

We plan to achieve SOC 2 Type 2 certification by the end of October 2022. The Company is current with the latest Standard Information Gathering (SIG) standards, both operationally and for cloud-based controls. The SOC 2 Type I audit report is available under NDA upon request
